Fractional Director of Finance

Description

We are looking for an experienced Fractional Director of Finance to join our team on a contract basis Banner Elk, North Carolina. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and oversee all aspects of financial management within the organization. As a long-term contract role, you will play a key part in shaping the company's financial strategies while ensuring compliance and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.

Hands on role supervising and stepping in when necessary to process day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, credit card transactions, and inventory management.

Provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership to drive profitability and long-term sustainability.

Prepare comprehensive financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring transparency and adherence to compliance standards.

Develop and present detailed financial reports, including year-end summaries and five-year forecasts, to stakeholders during annual meetings.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with overall business objectives.

Ensure meticulous record-keeping and maintain well-documented work papers for journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial activities.

Support the preparation of annual tax filings by providing accurate and complete financial records.

Ensure compliance with all tax obligations, including sales tax and property tax requirements.

Lead and execute system upgrades or process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and financial controls.

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management or leadership roles.

Hospitality experience is a plus!

Expertise in cash flow analysis and capital management.

Proficiency in month-end close procedures and financial reporting processes.

Strong knowledge of business systems and their applications in financial operations.

Proven ability to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations.

Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage system implementations effectively.
