The Environment, Safety, Health, and Quality Directorate provides expertise in environmental protection and stewardship, radiation protection, industrial hygiene, and waste management. We provide mission enabling services by protecting people, resources, and the environment.
ALDESHQ is seeking a motivated, organized, and customer-focused professional to provide administrative and business support in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is proactive and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate needs, resolve challenges, and support leadership and staff with professionalism and discretion.
Key responsibilities include managing calendars, coordinating travel and reimbursements, handling correspondence and records, and supporting onboarding and offboarding activities. The selected individual may also serve as a timekeeper, Designated Procurement Representative (DPR), or Purchase Card holder. Success in this role requires exceptional communication, organization, and a commitment to efficiency and outstanding customer service.
This position is fully on-site in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Administrative Support
Experience providing advanced-level administrative support in a dynamic and fast-paced office environment. Skilled in complex calendar management, domestic and international travel coordination, procurement processes, meeting planning and logistics, visitor coordination, accurate data entry and tracking, and timekeeping. Proven ability to anticipate needs, resolve problems, develop and implement effective solutions, and improve administrative processes to enhance overall efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Organization and Time Management
Demonstrated advanced ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a demanding and constantly changing environment. Recognized for reliability, punctuality, and consistent performance under pressure. Skilled at maintaining composure and accuracy while meeting tight deadlines, managing competing priorities, and adapting to frequent interruptions. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while ensuring high-quality outcomes and timely completion of all assignments.
Business Systems
Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, and the Microsoft Office Suite-including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experienced in independently analyzing and interpreting information to prepare professional reports, spreadsheets, and presentations. Adept at leveraging digital tools to streamline workflows and support operational effectiveness.
Communication
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels and with internal partners. Strong attention to detail in proofreading, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.
Clearance
Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. Obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
Education/Experience: Position requires a High School Diploma and 3 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications:
Business Systems
Demonstrated proficiency with a wide range of Laboratory business systems, including iProcurement/Ariba, Concur, and UTrain, as well as computer applications such as Microsoft PowerPoint and SharePoint. Experienced in procurement activities, serving as a Professional Buyer or Designated Procurement Representative (DPR).
LANL Experience
Thorough knowledge of the Laboratory's organizational framework, administrative processes, and governing policies, combined with an understanding of its mission and how ALDESHQ supports and advances that mission through effective operations and service delivery.
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
