This position serves our partners at the Minnesota Department of Administration. MNIT Administration supports systems that power the agency's diverse responsibilities, including procurement, construction projects, leases, and state property maintenance.
This position exists to formally project manage the development, enhancement or retirement of complex information technology & business area solutions, systems, processes and services delivered on a statewide basis. Included are technologies that span the complete spectrum of IT systems, solutions and processes to support, and enhance foundation infrastructure, services, systems and enterprise software applications.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at 50 Sherburne Ave, St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in performing IT project management functions.
Experience must include:
Experience in IT project management including project scoping, project planning, project execution, project reporting and product launch.
Knowledge of generally accepted standards outlined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and by MNIT.
Knowledge of various Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and methods.
Problem solving skills and be self-motivated, independent, creative, innovative and persistent in order to identify, analyze, diagnose and resolve problems, which arise.
Communication and presentation skills, both oral and written that are tailored to any level of audience.
Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
A master's degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor's degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate's degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
Knowledge of project procurement management: procurement planning, solicitation planning, source selection, contract administration, and contract closeout.
Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuation professional practices such as business impact analysis, business continuation planning, alternate site contacts and testing.IT Security practices.
Program and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, PlanView, Sciforma or similar.
Knowledge of electronic government practices.
Business analyst and requirements management knowledge and experience.
IT Project integration, scope, cost, risk and quality management.
