The company is seeking a hard-working, organized, and self-motivated individual to work in our Safety/Quality Control Department. This position is full-time, non-exempt, $18.50/hr - $25.06/hr. Compensation includes medical/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k) plan with employer matching contribution, life insurance, employee assistance program, and training opportunities. Regular shifts are Monday -- Friday with overtime as needed. Day shift hours are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and swing shift hours are 2:15 pm to 10:45 pm.
Responsibilities Include:
Work to protect the safety and well-being of all employees, visitors, and contractors on site.
Inspect incoming materials and in-process work to verify quality standards are being met.
Coordinate and conduct monthly Safety Committee Meetings and Safety Walkthroughs.
In the event of a workplace accident:
Assess the situation, call emergency services if needed.
Establish a safe condition, or safeguard personnel from a dangerous condition (lockout dangerous machine, rope off dangerous area, or instruct others to do so).
Drive injured personnel to hospital/clinic and to drug testing facility if needed.
Assist with accident reports, follow-up investigations, and long-term resolutions to findings.
Maintain stock of consumable safety items, such as lifting straps, shields, guards, and other commonly used safety items.
Audit policies and propose updates to facilitate safe/sustainable growth.
Reference laws/codes for Safety and Quality standards (OSHA, WAC, ASME, UL).
Conduct/coordinate regular safety trainings as required (forklift, LOTO, EHS, etc.).
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Attention to detail
Willing and able to become First Aid/CPR certified
Interpersonal skills to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, E-mail, and Windows-based database programs
Ability to perform under pressure professionally and with discretion
Strong verbal and written communication skills
