Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant who will perform both in-office and remote duties to ensure smooth daily operations. This role involves rooming patients, updating medical records, handling voicemails from the call center, and scribing for surgeons. Additionally, you will prepare exam rooms between patient visits, take patient vitals, and support a patient flow of 15-20 patients per doctor daily. Remote tasks include managing staff messages, processing prescription refills, and chart scrubbing.

Responsibilities

Room patients and update medical records.

Handle voicemails from the call center and scribe for surgeons.

Prepare exam rooms between patient visits.

Take patient vitals and support patient flow of 15-20 patients per doctor daily.

Manage staff messages and process prescription refills remotely.

Perform chart scrubbing and handle incoming calls from the call center.

Clean and restock exam rooms to maintain a safe and organized environment.

Assist with conservative treatment documentation and manage related records.

Upload and report documents into patient charts accurately.

Support physicians with various office tasks and administrative needs.

Assist with managing MRI denial documentation and follow-up.

Essential Skills

Experience in medical assisting and patient care.

Knowledge of electronic health records and medical terminology.

Medical scribing or documentation experience.

Ability to room patients and collect vitals.

Experience with blood pressure tests and patient screening.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Prior MA or CMA experience in any specialty is preferred.

Any experience in healthcare is accepted.

Epic experience is preferred.

Experience in phlebotomy and appointment scheduling.

Work Environment

You will work closely with neurosurgeons and practice operations in a tight-knit, startup-style team. The team enjoys open communication with leadership and fun perks such as spa bonuses and axe-throwing outings. The work environment is team-oriented, with 8 CMAs currently on staff and plans to grow to 11. You will never work alone, as Morristown is a high-volume site with multiple CMAs. The shift is Monday through Friday, with the physician seeing anywhere from 15-30 patients on a full day. Many of the patients are returning, which allows for quick turnaround times in rooming. You will work with 8 other MAs, rotating doctors but generally sticking with one provider most of the time.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morristown, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
