Description Accounts Payable Clerk - Full-Time | Torrance Area, CA A dynamic and growing service-based organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join its accounting team in the Torrance Area. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting smooth day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities Process and code vendor invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports accurately and efficiently. Verify invoice information against purchase orders and receiving documents to ensure accuracy. Obtain necessary approvals prior to payment processing. Prepare and process vendor payments, including check runs, ACH transfers, and credit card transactions. Maintain detailed and organized records of payments, vendor files, and supporting documentation. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Manage W-9 documentation and assist with 1099 reporting at year-end. Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and reconciliations. Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve invoice and payment issues. Assist with other accounting functions as needed, such as accounts receivable, payroll, or administrative support.

Qualifications 2 or more years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting support. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar preferred). Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

Minimum of two years of accounts payable or general accounting experience, ideally in construction, landscaping, or service-based industries.

Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Basic knowledge of job costing and project accounting.

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
