Job Title: Research Scientist

Job Description

We are seeking an innovative Scientist to plan, execute, and analyze laboratory experiments involving biomaterials, regenerative matrices, and medical device components. The role involves contributing fresh ideas for new products, testing methods, and process improvements to enhance our R&D capabilities. You will also develop, build, and refine proto@types to meet defined specifications and clinical needs while generating precise technical documentation in compliance with FDA and Control requirements.

Responsibilities

Characterize materials and proto@types using analytical, biochemical, and mechanical testing methods.

Perform risk assessments, troubleshoot technical issues, and propose solutions to enhance product performance or process robustness.

Support technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing, which includes process documentation, validation support, and personnel training.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, and Clinical, to align product development with business and clinical needs.

Engage with external consultants and customers to gather feedback and translate needs into product features.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff on laboratory practices, data analysis, and project tasks.

Present findings and project updates to management, peers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Maintain laboratory operations, ensuring equipment calibration, safety compliance, and method updates.

Essential Skills

Strong in laboratory research and development, particularly in medical devices, biomaterials, or regenerative technologies.

Proficiency in laboratory techniques for material characterization, tissue-derived biomaterials, or device testing.

Knowledge of Design Controls, GLP/GMP standards.

Experience with experimental design, data/statistical analysis, and technical problem-solving.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple studies and projects simultaneously.

Excellent communication and presentation skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

MS with 1-2 years or BS with 3-5 years in Biomedical Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field.

Experience in medical device research and development is preferred.

Familiarity with CAD or modeling software is an advantage.

Work Environment

You will be working within a collaborative R&D team that includes one other Scientist and three Engineers. The work environment is a GMP-compliant setting that emphasizes teamwork and innovation in advancing medical devices based on regenerative technologies.

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.

Great benefits / medical benefits start 1st day, 401k requiring no employee contribution, frequent employee activities
