Compensation for under 5 credits is $1,650 per semester credit. Those teaching more than five credits are temporary part-time employees and can move to the faculty salary schedule.

ABOUT THE POSITIONS AND THE DEPARTMENT
This position provides classroom information literacy instruction, one-on-one education and research assistance to our Normandale students, staff, and faculty. This position collaborates with college faculty in other disciplines to design, plan, and deliver instruction to our diverse student population that is tailored to the discipline, course, and assignment.
Librarians work together to develop and execute library work plans, policies, and procedures. The successful candidate will be a service-oriented individual with an understanding of how librarianship contributes to the success of students and faculty in teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will:
Provide high-quality research assistance to our diverse community at the Research Desk or in research consultations
Collaborate with faculty to develop course-integrated library instruction and create associated lesson plans, materials, and research guides
Deliver high-quality course-integrated information literacy instruction in all delivery modes (face-to-face, online synchronous, online asynchronous, and hybrid)
Participate in shared librarian duties such as collection development including selection and deselection
Serve the college and/or library communities as schedule allows (e.g. college committees, MnPALS library consortium groups, etc.)
Engage in on-going professional development to keep current in library science and in the scholarship of teaching and learning
The Library supports the college's goal of achieving racial equity in educational outcomes and experiences. The individuals hired will be expected to engage in this work across the college, in the Library, and in the classroom (e.g., attend campus trainings, identify and work to resolve barriers or inequities in library services, employ culturally responsive teaching practices, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in library science or equivalent degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with students in academic libraries.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Teaching experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of current methodologies and pedagogy in information literacy and research instruction, reference, and student learning assessment.
Experience with, or knowledge of, instructional, communication, or graphic design technologies to develop online tutorials, guides, videos, or other instructional materials.
Demonstrated experience, or knowledge of, providing in-depth research assistance in person and virtually.
Evidence of continuous professional development related to diversity, equity, and inclusion and professional development in librarianship.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Strong service orientation - enthusiasm for delivering high-quality and timely service.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
