Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team in Lutherville, Maryland. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the administration of estates and trusts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and providing exceptional client service. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with extensive experience in probate administration and estate planning.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage the filing and recording of probate court documents, ensuring compliance with local regulations and procedures.
Prepare necessary documents for probate administration, including petitions, orders, deeds, certifications, and administrative accounts.
Oversee non-probate administration tasks following a client's passing, ensuring all processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
Communicate effectively with clients and advisors to facilitate routine estate administration tasks.
Collaborate with clients' financial advisors to ensure proper titling and management of accounts.
Conduct research on probate laws and procedures to maintain compliance and provide accurate guidance.
Assist in organizing and maintaining case files and records to ensure easy accessibility and accuracy.
Support attorneys in drafting and reviewing estate planning documents.
Provide general administrative support for the legal team as needed. Requirements - A minimum of 5 years of experience working independently as a trust and estate paralegal.
High school diploma required; a bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate is strongly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of Maryland State probate administration processes and estate planning concepts.
Proven experience handling local probate administration tasks effectively and efficiently.
Familiarity with GEMs software is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, attorneys, and advisors in a meticulous and attentive manner.
Self-motivated and flexible, with a demonstrated ability to follow through on tasks in a timely manner.
