Maintenance Mechanic - Food Manufacturing

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the repair and upkeep of machinery and mechanical systems, including engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and other production equipment. This role ensures optimal performance and reliability by performing a variety of maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor mechanical equipment during operation and identify issues by sound and performance.

Disassemble machinery to access and remove faulty components.

Inspect parts for defects in shape, texture, or wear.

Measure and assess used parts with precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Repair or replace malfunctioning components.

Install specialized functional and structural parts.

Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment.

Test and calibrate equipment to meet operational standards.

Operate metalworking tools including lathes, drill presses, grinders, and saws to fabricate or repair parts.

Sharpen and reshape tools as needed.

Initiate purchase orders for replacement parts and equipment.

Perform repairs on electrical systems and components.

Adhere to plant food safety protocols and industry standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

Complete required training on Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies.

Perform tasks in compliance with safety and environmental procedures.

Report any safety or environmental concerns not previously documented.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

At least 1 year of experience in production maintenance.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and bagging machines.

Skilled in using hand tools, welding equipment, cutting torches, and power tools.

Ability to read and understand safety guidelines, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in production or industrial maintenance.

Hands-on experience with electric motors, gearboxes, conveyors, PLCs, control systems, bagging equipment, bearings, and other OEM food manufacturing machinery.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CMMS software.

Wage is DOE and is between $26.00/hr-$32.00/hr
