Summary You will serve as a DAM NECK ACTIVITY INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY OFFICER (ISSO) in the Information Technology, Corporate Operations Division of NAVSURFWARCENACT DAM NECK VA. Responsibilities You will oversee and review all cybersecurity and related certifications to ensure all cyber workforce members have the requisite certifications and other credentials. You will manage and validate cyber workforce readiness assessing the status of positions identified and filled with qualified personnel. You will prepare and lead efforts to prepare for inspections, evaluations, and audits of cybersecurity workforce. You will oversee the security posture for one or more systems throughout the entire lifecycle. You will provide continuous monitoring through scheduled audits, controls testing, and audit reviews and escalate issues as needed. You will oversee the implementation of Information Technology (IT) security controls and security authorization documents and ensure the system is compliant with mandated security policies and requirements. You will provide technical recommendations for all Risk Assessments and Vulnerability Assessments conducted for the system or site. You will provide security analysis of IT activities to ensure that appropriate security measures are in place and being enforced. You will coordinate scanning or other penetration testing activities that might occur at or traverse the system's infrastructure as part of a Security Control Assessment (SCA). You will promote IT security awareness information to the user community by validating the user community is completing their annual training. You will oversee and maintain regulatory requirements and participate on the Configuration Control Board (CCB) by reviewing changes for security implications and security applications. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying Information Technology (IT) security principles, cybersecurity principles, or cyber workforce policies to monitor and evaluate compliance with cybersecurity requirements. Examples of qualifying experience may include: applying knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threats, and vulnerabilities to ensure compliance with security policies and requirements; planning and executing IT audits and security reviews; leading computer security incidents efforts to resolution; providing expertise in cybersecurity workforce management. Education Additional Information This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The full performance level of NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14. The salary range shown in the announcement represents all of the positions within the band, including GS-14 equivalent (high grade) positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $139,036). This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
