NY1548881 Accounts Maintenance Clerk/Accounting Technician GS-04 or GS-05. Full-time, for DFAS in Rome, NY.

Duties Duties will be developmental in nature when the position is filled below the full performance level. Research current customer accounts, historical data, source documents, etc., to develop and explain detailed information not otherwise readily available. Research accounting and financial data and performs balancing and reconciling of accounts. Assists in implementing and maintaining Internal Control Program requirements to protect against waste, fraud, and abuse. Processes all @types of accounting and financial transactions and requests for reimbursement. Verifies the accuracy, completeness, and validity of a wide variety of accounting and financial functions/transactions to compute and disburse payments.

Qualifications This announcement will be used to fill positions with an entry grade of GS-04 or GS-05.

GS-04 positions: One (1) year of Generalized Experience of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

GS-05 positions: One (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience at GS-05 is defined as: Performing duties that support the processing of financial/accounting transactions using standardized procedures that may include reviewing financial/accounting systems information/documents for accuracy/completeness, inputting financial/accounting information into automated systems, or correcting invalid financial/accounting transactions.

Education Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience is generally not applicable above GS-05, but may be considered if it is directly related to the position being filled.

GS-04 Two (2) years of education above high school may be substituted to meet the general experience requirement

GS-05 Four (4) years of education above high school may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement
