Description We are looking for a Medical Records Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Waconia, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining and organizing patient records in compliance with medical, ethical, and legal standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to contribute to the healthcare industry by ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in record management.

Responsibilities:

Organize and manage patient medical records using electronic health record systems to ensure accessibility and accuracy.

Review medical documentation to verify completeness and adherence to established standards and regulations.

Retrieve patient records promptly for healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and technicians.

Ensure strict confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with privacy regulations.

Respond to information requests from patients and authorized personnel while maintaining data protection protocols.

Perform clerical tasks such as filing, typing, organizing correspondence, and scheduling appointments.

Train and assist other staff members in effectively managing medical records.

Generate reports and statistical summaries related to patient records as required.

Maintain compliance with health and safety standards in all aspects of record management. Requirements - Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Allscripts.

Familiarity with medical software including Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA).

Strong knowledge of medical billing functions and claim administration processes.

Experience in auditing medical records for accuracy and compliance.

Ability to create and interpret charts, graphs, and statistical summaries.

Skilled in answering inbound calls and maintaining clear and effective communication.

Excellent organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to managing documentation.
