21 Plus is looking for a Day Program Instructor to assist with daily function of the Adult Training Centers. Our instructors share responsibility for and assist the Vocational Program Administrator with the overall operation and quality of the adult training center. They provide supervision and training to individuals with developmental disabilities to become contributing members of their community while maintaining quality programs. This is accomplished by working cooperatively with peers and the community, performing assigned duties and communicating critical participant information.Location: Ocean County, NJ Salary Range: $20.51-$21.01 Benefits: 21 Plus offers medical, dental, vision, as well as life insurance benefits. We offer the opportunity to enroll in the 403(b), voluntary Aflac policies, sick time, and paid time off.Job Responsibilities: Provide training to participants with an emphasis on community employment services and to promote individual growth to those participants served by providing opportunities for community integration. To supervise additional participant groups at the request of the ATC Program Administrator including but not limited to; outings, bowling, crew labor, job sampling, volunteer activities, etc. To uphold agency's mission and regulations Maximize opportunities for community inclusion; assist in the development of community resources that meet the needs, interests and abilities of participants. Interact with participants and relevant others on a scheduled and as needed basis to review progress; focus supports on person-centered planning. Provide input to the development of goals and implement strategies to achieve goals. Maintain positive working relationships with participants, families, supervisors, peers and other involved parties within the community. Use adaptive devices and instructional strategies to meet the individual needs of the people served. May implement job tasks to facilitate efficient production levels of people served, conduct task analysis when necessary. Promote a safe environment in all service settings; consistently apply universal precautions; inform Vocational Program Administrator of safety issues. Cooperating fully with licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation. The requirements for criminal background checks, the central registry, the child abuse registry, and drug testing.Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old, have a valid NJ Driver's License with an acceptable record of safe driving High School Diploma / GED (verifiable) Associate's degree in Human Services or any related field. Minimum of 5 years' experience working with DD population in a group home setting, preferably group homes licensed by the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities. Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience, 4 years preferred. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines with minimal oversight. Excellent time management, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills. Must utilize problem-solving skills, creativity and critical thinking skills. Ability to develop their employees based on their individual strengths.
