About the Indiana School for the Deaf (ISD):

The?Indiana School for the Deaf (ISD)?is a fully accredited school for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in nursery school through high school. The Indiana School for the Deaf is accredited by AdvancED Indiana and the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf (CEASD). It provides services to approximately 342 students enrolled on campus. About 60 percent of the students live on campus during the academic year. ISD offers a full range of social activities, including sports, clubs, and organizations.

American Sign Language (ASL) is preferred, but not required for this position.

Salary Statement:

The salary for this position will be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

Cleans restrooms, sinks, and mirrors.

Mops and waxes floors.

Dust and polish furniture.

Washes windows, blinds, and walls.

Distributes paper towels, bathroom tissue, cups, cleansing agents, etc.

Requisitions distribute and store supplies.

Reports needed repairs of equipment and facility.

Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s) is an essential function of this position.

What You'll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirement to be considered for employment:

Working knowledge of the proper care of, and ability to use, cleaning equipment such as mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, power scrubbers, polishers, and buffers.

Working knowledge of the variety and uses of cleaning and sanitizing agents.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Assists in training new employees and completing necessary reports and order forms.

Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.

Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
