Description
The Nurse Technician is a student currently enrolled in a Registered Nurse program at an accredited school and has completed at least one academic term, which included a clinical component. Functions under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and within the scope of practice that the supervising registered nurse has determined is appropriate based upon the education and skills of the Nurse Technician and as defined by the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). Responsible for providing direct patient care applying current health concepts and assisting with routine or general clinical responsibilities that may contribute directly and indirectly to patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse or other registered nurse. May work up to the documented level of academic competence accomplished in the individual's education program.

Required Qualifications:
Coursework/Training: Must be currently enrolled in a nursing program accredited by the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission, Washington State Department of Health; or other state nursing approval body for out of state residents. Must provide current transcript.
Coursework/Training: Completed one quarter or semester which includes a clinical rotation.
Coursework/Training: School sanctioned skills checklist.
Washington Nursing Technician Registration upon hire upon hire.
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
Clinical rotation (see Education).
Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework/Training: Grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
