Engineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes. Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for developing manufacturing processes, production floor layouts and associated tools. Reviews new designs for manufacturability. Designs process improvements to reduce product cost, process cycle time and improved product quality.

The Senior Principal Engineer, Manufacturing leads major product design projects. This role is responsible for the coordination and management of resources to drive projects to completion. The projects managed are highly complex and will require the management of teams from 4-10 dedicated resources. The job has autonomy and complexity reflective of driving multiple projects.
Responsibilities
Builds project plans, timelines and budgets for complex design changes to Class 1, 2, and 3 devices assigned to the job.
Leads internal resources for project feasibility testing and exploration stage of projects.
Directs validation testing from the necessary internal resources to ensure compliance and quality control.
Tracks project findings and details long-term impacts and evaluation and reports to relevant internal management teams.
Reaches out to internal resources to acquire the necessary resources and buy-in for assigned projects.
Provides general guidance to Principal engineers regarding less complex and impactful design changes.
Conducts in training activities and general team management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience in related field preferred
8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on process improvement preferred
Proven expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies preferred
Familiarity with automation, robotics, and plastics processing is highly desirable.
Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and completing cost reduction projects.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Anticipated salary range: $115,000 - $130,000 a year
