Job Title: Data Center Construction Manager

Job Description

The Data Center Construction Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and administering construction projects in the surrounding area. This position requires leading the coordination of General Contractor and Vendor Partner activities, managing costs, processing change orders, and ensuring the construction progress aligns with the project's quality standards. The Construction Manager will also support strategic and tactical delivery of data center projects.

Responsibilities

Assure safety is the top priority by advocating, motivating, and coaching the team.

Ensure schedule predictability and cost reliability.

Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.

Review and administer project schedules and cost estimates.

Monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.

Coordinate and direct the efforts of General Contractor and vendor partners.

Review daily work progress and prepare internal and external reports.

Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve emerging issues.

Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks to ensure project success.

Ensure quality construction standards and proper techniques are used.

Create and manage project timelines and track budgets.

Motivate the team and ensure they have the necessary resources.

Maintain project organization and document management.

Attend project meetings and maintain detailed project notes.

Communicate daily updates with the project manager.

Be present on the project site five days a week.

Essential Skills

10+ years of experience in construction, with a focus on data centers.

Strong organizational and executive functioning skills.

Experience with data center construction and commissioning.

Knowledge of construction management, architectural, or engineering principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

A degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering is preferred.

An electrical engineering background is ideal, but mechanical engineering experience is acceptable.

Experience dealing with civil, electrical, and plumbing disciplines is valuable.

A background in commissioning is beneficial.

Work Environment

The position is located in MECKLENBURG AVC17, with a typical work schedule of Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $88.00 - $98.00/hr.
