Title: Academic Advisor-Early College-Dual Credit (Academic Advisor II)Salary Range: 43,000.00Contract Term Length: 12 MonthsAnticipated Start Date: January 2026Standard Hours: 37.50Work Location: Discretionary HybridFLSA Status: Non-ExemptCollege: Gateway Community & Technical CollegeDepartment: Early College OpportunitiesTotal RewardsGateway Community & Technical College offers a competitive benefits package and an attractive work environment that supports excellence, innovation, and creativity, including:- Exceptional health care, vision, and dental coverage for you and your family- Tuition reimbursement/waiver for you, your spouse, and dependents- 403(b) retirement plan: a 5% employee contribution receives a 10% employer match- Vacation/Sick Time- Work-Life Balance- 9.5 Paid Holidays- 2 Weeks Institutional Closing Pay (Last 2 weeks of December) for qualifying positions- Employee Assistance ProgramJob SummaryRecruits, enrolls, and advises students on dual credit academic matters, such as course selection and degree requirements, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality to assist students in reaching academic, personal, and professional success.Job Duties:- Responsible for communicating with district and high school faculty and staff, parents, students, and community about the Early College Opportunities (ECO), recruiting students, and conducting new student/parent information/orientation sessions.- Works closely with Admissions staff, ensuring admissions procedures are followed.- Responsible for providing general admission, advising, and registration services to students and prospective students enrolled in ECO classes, including maintaining accurate student records by assisting students in completing all necessary paperwork for enrolling in the ECO.- Assist students/schools with understanding where to access the additional admission services (EdReady, etc.) when needed.- Assists seniors who are ECO students and community members with understanding the Gateway College (GCTC) admission process and provides information on other student support services that may be needed, such as Financial Aid, FAFSA workshops, Admissions, and transcript requests.- Serves as the advisor to the ECO students.- Receives, processes, and responds to academic inquiries according to established policies and procedures set up by the ECO program.- Provides and conducts an array of student support services that advisors generally cover, including early alert, semester advising, and student problem-solving/planning.- Serves as a main point of contact for students who pose retention risks, providing complex organizational information about educational options, academic requirements, and institutional resources, and addressing their needs.- Counsels students in identifying and assessing their interests, skills, and values to match the programs of study GCTC offers.- Participates in professional development activities, especially those that will enhance the skills utilized in this position, as well as GCTC college-wide meetings.- Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Student Services, or a related field- 2 - 4 years of relevant experience- Experience in academic advising, admissions, or student support services- Ability to counsel students on academic, personal, and career planning while maintaining confidentiality.- Familiarity with college admissions processes, financial aid (FAFSA), and academic program requirements.- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.- Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.- Proficient in
