Accounts Payable Specialist - Biotech / Life Sciences

An innovative biotech research firm in Carlsbad is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage day-to-day payables and expense operations. This role supports the finance team in ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Their ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and experienced in AP automation systems within a corporate accounting environment.

Responsibilities:

Process invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests in a paperless AP system.

Verify coding, approvals, and budget allocations.

Manage corporate credit card reconciliations and employee expense reports.

Assist in month-end accruals and general ledger reconciliation.

Maintain vendor database and ensure compliance with 1099 reporting.

Support external audits and implement process improvements.

Collaborate with procurement and lab teams for PO discrepancies.

Requirements

3+ years of full-cycle AP experience in a corporate or biotech environment.

Proficiency with NetSuite or Coupa preferred.

Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
