Description

We are looking for an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal with at least five years of relevant experience to join our team (initially on-site and eventually on a Hybrid basis) in New York, NY. This role focuses on insurance defense litigation and requires the ability to manage a high volume of cases with precision and attention to detail. As this is a Contract-to-Permanent position, it offers an excellent opportunity for long-term career growth within a dynamic legal environment.

Responsibilities:

Handle a caseload of 80-90 insurance defense litigation files, ensuring each case progresses efficiently.

Prepare and manage discovery documents, including drafting and responding to requests.

E-file documents in NY state and federal courts, adhering to all procedural requirements.

Coordinate trial preparation activities, ensuring all necessary materials and evidence are organized and ready.

Utilize case management software to track deadlines, maintain case files, and communicate updates.

Collaborate with attorneys to develop strategies and execute litigation tasks effectively.

Review and analyze legal documents to identify pertinent information for case development.

Maintain organized and accurate records, including correspondence, pleadings, and evidence.

Leverage available templates and resources to streamline workflows and ensure consistency.

Monitor case progress and proactively address any issues to avoid delays.

Requirements

Minimum of five years of experience as a paralegal specializing in insurance defense litigation.

Experience with court filings in both NY state and federal courts.

Strong knowledge of discovery processes and civil litigation procedures.

Proficiency in using case management software to organize and track case details.

Familiarity with trial preparation, including organizing evidence and drafting trial documents.

Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned cases.

Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and correspondence.
