Job Title: Flooring Salesperson
Department: Flooring Sales
Reports To: Store General Manager
ONet: Retail Salespersons - 41-2031.00
40 hours per week with base monthly income plus commission. Rotating shift.
May require evening or weekend shifts based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement
Execute strategic face-to-face territory canvassing to generate qualified sales leads.
Conduct professional in-home measures for customers ISO generating accurate quotes for material and installation services.
Greet customers promptly and courteously as they enter the store.
Ascertain customer needs and preferences through active listening and questioning.
Recommend, select, and help customers locate or obtain flooring products and accessories that meet their needs.
Demonstrate and explain the use, care, and maintenance of flooring products.
Answer questions regarding merchandise, pricing, warranties, promotions, and store policies.
Sales & Transactions
Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security procedures.
Prepare accurate sales slips, invoices, and sales contracts.
Compute sales prices, total purchases, and process payments using cash, credit, or financing options.
Sell or arrange for delivery, installation, financing, or service contracts for flooring merchandise.
Maintain records related to sales, returns, and customer interactions.
Qualifications/Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong math and estimating abilities.
Knowledge of flooring materials (carpet, vinyl, hardwood, tile, laminate, etc.).
Ability to operate POS systems and basic office software.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
Ability to walk door-to-door for client facing interactions.
Lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Bend, reach, and handle product samples as needed.
Retail showroom or warehouse setting.
