Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Georgia. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced individuals to contribute their expertise in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Execute month-end and year-end closing processes with precision and timeliness.

Manage general ledger operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable.

Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is prepared.

Develop, implement, and enforce accounting policies to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis to guide business decisions.

Perform detailed financial analyses to assist in evaluating profitability and operational efficiency.

Oversee fixed asset tracking, including depreciation schedules and reconciliations.

Mentor and guide less experienced accounting team members, fostering their growth.

Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a master's degree is preferred.

At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior or supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.

Proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle, NetSuite, or similar systems is preferred.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex data analysis.

Experience with corporate tax, sales tax, and preparing corporate tax returns.

Proven ability to manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
