Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our team in Hingham, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial activities, ensuring accurate reporting, and overseeing cost allocations for various properties and projects. This is a long-term contract position that offers the opportunity to utilize your accounting expertise and analytical skills in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for multiple properties, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Oversee the month-end close process, including account reconciliations and accrual entries.

Utilize Yardi software to manage property accounting tasks and ensure data accuracy.

Track and allocate project costs effectively, ensuring proper job costing procedures are followed.

Manage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded appropriately.

Generate financial reports and provide analysis to support decision-making processes.

Collaborate with project managers to monitor budgets and control expenses.

Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.

Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records or reports.

Assist in audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries. Requirements - Proven experience in property accounting, with a strong understanding of job costing.

Proficiency in using Yardi software for accounting purposes.

Solid knowledge of accrual accounting principles and month-end close processes.

Strong familiarity with general ledger management and financial reporting.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
