Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in Fulton, Maryland. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a vital role in managing financial records, assisting with tax preparations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger records, including adjusting journal entries and account reconciliations.

Assist in monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Handle bookkeeping responsibilities such as managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and processing biweekly payroll.

Communicate effectively with clients to collect necessary documentation, address inquiries, and resolve discrepancies.

Support the preparation and filing of individual and business tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Utilize QuickBooks Online and Desktop for financial management and reporting tasks.

Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.

Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting workflows. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

At least 2 years of experience in public accounting, including internships.

Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Desktop, as well as Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables).

Familiarity with payroll processing and month-end close procedures.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple deadlines effectively.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interactions.

Knowledge of tax preparation and compliance is preferred but not required.

Experience in a public accounting firm is a plus.
