Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Geologist to join our Remediation team in our Orlando, Florida office. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering professional consulting services to our key clients.
This is a field-based role comprising approximately 80 to 90% field work and 10 to 20% office-based work. The candidate will join a large established team conducting environmental assessment and remediation projects across the state of Florida. The candidate will communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as a part of a project team. Note this role may require travel outside of Florida (from days to weeks) to support projects as needed across the United States. This role will require occasional overnight stays within the state of Florida.
This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Performing routine fieldwork, working under close supervision from project managers. Field work may include soil, sediment, surface water and/or groundwater sampling, operation and maintenance of remedial systems, and drilling and remedial construction oversight including subcontractor management.
Participating in site visits and coordinating and assisting field staff as required.
Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Develop knowledge of job-specific?federal, state, and local laws and regulations and assigned job specifications.
Collecting and analyzing data under the supervision of an experienced scientist/engineer.
Preparing progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Attending meetings and reporting on project tasks.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS in Geology, Civil/Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science or related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required for this role.
Valid US Driver's License is required for this position. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.
Must be able to pass Federal Background Check to gain access to DoD project sites.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and/or coursework related to environmental remediation.
Proficiency in GIS and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) software.
Experience with data visualization tools.
Experience with field and/or construction documentation.
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
Additional Information
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Orlando, Florida . The selected candidate must be available to work in Orlando, Florida on a scheduled basis.
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $65000 to $71000.
