System Engineering Manager - Motion Imagery

As a system engineering manager for motion imagery solutions, you will be managing a team whose work is providing motion imagery software that manipulates compressed video (e.g. AVC, HEVC video data) and combines it with relevant other data for enhanced motion GEOINT intelligence analysis. You will be part of the team planning and designing systems to meet the evolving needs of the Motion GEOINT business. Software expertise desired includes Web programming, C++, Python and the Rust programming languages. You will work with collaborative teams to perform technical activities that impact the design, testing, and implementation of systems, software, and applications, including full motion video (FMV) processing capabilities.
HOW SYSTEM ENGINEERING MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Manage employees engaged in providing motion imagery system solutions and technical support
Provide a proactive mindset to maintain and update video encoding technology as part of our overall development environment
As part of the team, you will support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline activities involving end-to-end system performance validation efforts with a focus on communicating effectively with customers, team members, and end users
You will work independently under pressure and effectively identify, recommend, and problem solve system issues to ensure systems, software, and applications are properly configured to meet customer needs
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education : BA/BS Degree or equivalent
Required Experience : 15 years of related technical experience
Required Technical Skills :
Experience developing complex software in the Web, C++ and/or Rust programming language
Experience on teams working complex software development tasks leveraging agile, hybrid-agile, and traditional predictive project management constructs.
Experience/familiarity with Motion Imagery Standards Board (MISB) concepts, encoding methodology, metadata constructs, and other community standards artifacts.
Experience mentoring junior staff through complex tasks
Experience enhanceing information systems by identifying information systems technology opportunities and developing application strategies
Experience developing and administering schedules and performance requirements
Experience with build tools like Jenkins, GitHub actions, Gitlab, etc.

Knowledge of video encoding and compression algorithms
Demonstrated ability to inherit, understand, and update existing software
DevOps experience
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

The likely salary range for this position is $170,000 - $230,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
