The Citi Ventures Finance - Senior Vice President position is under the Citigroup wide Client Analytics & Lead Finance Officer team. This team focuses on supporting Citi's Chief Client Officer and overall Client Organization. This role will be supporting management of all financial aspects across the Citi Ventures business and is responsible for supporting the definitions of financial objectives anchored on sound financial criteria, driving strategy in close partnership with the business and functional areas globally. This role will additionally be responsible for the delivery of materials and analysis supporting a broad range of topics across strategic initiatives undertaken by the Citi Ventures business, focusing on the Citi-wide investment portfolio.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate proven ability to work together with multiple stakeholders across Client, Finance, Functions, Operations and Technology. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment without close supervision and with colleagues who may not be in the same geographic location.
The Client Lead Finance Officer Team supplies the Client CFO, business leadership and other senior management with analysis and insight into the financial results and projections. Through this analysis, the team facilitates decision making to drive performance and strategy of global products, regions and functions, and also for use with external analysts, regulators and investors.
Deliverables include, but are not limited to, monthly performance analyses, target setting and forward looking analytics for a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The team also sets and manages the annual budget, quarterly outlooks and forecasts, competitor analytics, and the CCAR process to drive the long term performance of the franchise.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic partner to the Citi Ventures CEO and key business leaders, influencing financial strategy and driving execution.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance evaluation processes across the Citi Ventures organization, aligning business priorities with financial outcomes.
Shape the financial engagement model for Citi Ventures, including portfolio-level planning, investment review, and strategic growth analysis.
Identify opportunities for operational and reporting efficiency, leveraging data and analytics to streamline performance tracking and drive accountability.
Provide credible challenge and guidance on product and client-level profitability, resource allocation, and strategic investment decisions.
Partner across Finance, Technology, Operations, and Product teams to support the transformation of finance processes and systems aligned with enterprise-wide initiatives.
Contribute to the design and implementation of standardized financial frameworks, including KPIs, target setting, and scenario planning tools.
Represent the Client LFO Team in enterprise-level forums and strategic workstreams, collaborating across functions to influence Citi's broader financial agenda.
Lead creation of Citi financial reports and liaise with finance teams to provide a summary of financial trends and insight to senior management
Lead analysis of forecasts, strategic and operating plans, and create monthly outlooks in partnership with financial planning and analysis teams
Prepare analytics in support of CEO Reviews including business initiatives
Develop relationships with key partners and senior management to influence behavior and decision making
Executive presence with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Prepare presentations and analysis for the team and in support of the CFO
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
10+ years of relevant experience
Experience within financial services
Experience providing financial analysis for monthly forecasts, strategic multi-year forecasts, and annual budgets
Proficient Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge in additional systems including Oracle, Essbase, and SAP
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
Bachelor's degree/University degree required
