The Procurement Specialist provides purchasing support for production, warehouses, and direct shipments to customers by ensuring all required materials are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner. This position is responsible for ensuring the entire purchasing process operates efficiently and effectively while meeting customer expectations. Location: Brooklyn Park, MN Compensation: $28-30/hour Hybrid Schedule Responsibilities Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within each project. Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement, follow KAI's ISO- quality standards. Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, finished goods, Order and maintain inventory for warehouses. Place orders, generate POs from ERP system and confirm POs for finished goods, packaging, and raw materials. Review MRP daily. Work with Production Planners to ensure materials arrive in time to meet production demand and production schedule. Communicate with suppliers to ensure required documentation is received including Safety Data Sheets, Certificates of Analysis, and Certificates of Origin. Source materials and packaging based on quality, cost, and availability. Monitor supplier approval process and maintain performance records. Qualifications 2 years experience in a related field Knowledge of purchasing, supply chain, and chemical industry. Understanding of marketplace relating to goods and services purchased. General understanding of business issues and financial principles. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Business, or Supply Chain preferred. Computer skills; knowledge of office and purchasing applications. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to articulate ideas convincingly, negotiate contracts and find solutions to complex problems. Ability to plan and prioritize a wide variety of activities. Project management skills a plus; critical thinking and problem-solving capability Ability to work collaboratively with others; build and maintain positive business relationships.
