DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Psychiatric Aide, you will play a critical role in providing quality care to consumers and ensuring their safety and well-being. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse and will be responsible for assisting consumers with daily living activities, reporting any changes in their condition, and providing basic nursing care. Your duties will include assisting consumers with personal hygiene, monitoring their vital signs, and responding to any medical or psychiatric emergencies. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate medical records, documenting meals and exercise, and promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for consumers. Your role as a Psychiatric Aide is crucial in providing compassionate and competent care to consumers in need.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week Work hours are determined from the following shifts, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays. This may change based on operational needs. 1st shift: 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM 2nd shift: 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, with a shift differential of $1.25 per hour Overtime as operationally necessary Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Six months of experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with mental health or physical illness or disabilities; or Certification as a Nurse Aide or Nursing Assistant through the Pennsylvania Department of Health. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
