Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Tax Accountant in TOWSON, Maryland. The successful candidate will be tasked with the preparation and processing of individual and corporate tax returns, utilizing tax software, and providing audit support among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Accurately prepare and process individual and corporate tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.

Utilize tax software for efficient tax preparation, filing, and reporting.

Review financial records to identify tax-saving opportunities and advise clients accordingly.

Conduct in-depth research on complex tax issues and stay abreast with changes in tax laws and regulations.

Collaborate effectively with clients to gather necessary financial data and documentation for tax purposes.

Ensure timely filing of tax returns, extensions, and other required documentation.

Provide necessary audit support and assist in responding to inquiries from tax authorities.

Uphold the confidentiality and security of client information at all times.

Support senior staff in executing special projects and tax planning initiatives when required.

Requirements

Proficiency in using tax software for tax preparation and accounting tasks

Demonstrated experience in auditing, with the ability to identify discrepancies and suggest corrective measures

Strong understanding of compliance regulations within the accounting and tax sectors

Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, identifying key trends and financial indicators

Experience working with tax forms, ensuring accurate and timely filing

Proven track record in preparing individual tax returns, with a focus on maximizing deductions and credits

Experience in preparing corporate tax returns, with knowledge of specific requirements and regulations for businesses.
