A well-respected civil litigation firm in Petaluma is seeking a Legal Assistant to perform a hybrid mix of legal secretary and paralegal duties supporting its personal injury and employment litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation professional seeking a flexible, family-friendly schedule with a firm that values work-life balance. The team offers adjustable start and end times to accommodate personal commitments such as school drop-offs, pick-ups, or other scheduling needs-while maintaining a consistent, full-time onsite presence.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide hands-on litigation support for personal injury and employment matters, including drafting and formatting pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and trial documents.

Manage case calendars and deadlines using Clio and integrated court rules, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in filings.

Organize and maintain electronic case files, correspondence, and discovery materials.

Coordinate with clients for document collection, follow-ups, and updates.

Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and binders.

Conduct light legal research and cite-checking for employment cases as needed.

Support attorneys with general administrative and secretarial tasks, such as filing, e-filing, and preparing correspondence.

Requirements

Qualifications:

2+ years of civil litigation experience (plaintiff-side experience preferred, but defense candidates welcome).

Familiarity with personal injury and employment law matters.

Strong working knowledge of court procedures, calendaring, and discovery rules.

Proficiency with Clio and Microsoft Office Suite.

Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.

Must be dependable and able to work onsite 5 days per week (no remote option).
