The Principal, Technical Program Manager leads complex, large-scale technology programs by defining goals, managing cross-functional dependencies, and driving end-to-end delivery. This role requires expertise in program and risk management, technical design, and stakeholder engagement to ensure scalable, high-quality solutions. The position involves coordinating multiple teams, resolving ambiguities, and implementing process improvements to optimize outcomes. The successful candidate will communicate effectively across groups, mentor team members, and apply analytical problem-solving to advance program objectives while maintaining operational excellence and alignment with strategic priorities.

About the team:

The Customer Care Technology team at Walmart Global Tech develops innovative customer service solutions used worldwide. This team includes software engineers, data scientists, and machine learning experts who utilize advanced GenAI technology to enhance enterprise applications. As part of the Enterprise Business Systems organization, they focus on delivering scalable, high-quality systems that improve customer experiences and operational efficiency. The team drives innovation by managing complex programs and ensuring seamless integration across technology platforms and services, supporting Walmart's mission to help customers save money and live better through reliable and efficient technology solutions.

What you'll do:

Define and manage large-scale technical programs with multiple dependencies, ensuring alignment of goals, timelines, and resources.

Lead cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-availability system solutions while mitigating risks and resolving ambiguities.

Translate product requirements into technical designs, coordinating with engineering teams to ensure quality and operational excellence.

Establish and improve standardized workflows, prioritization frameworks, and automation opportunities to enhance program efficiency.

Communicate progress, risks, and impacts clearly to stakeholders, fostering alignment and informed decision-making.

Mentor team members on best practices in program and risk management, promoting continuous improvement.

What you'll bring:

Extensive experience in program and project management, including risk and stakeholder management across complex, cross-functional initiatives.

Proven ability to define and execute end-to-end technology solutions with strong knowledge of systems architecture, technical design, and cloud infrastructure.

Expertise in driving program planning, resource alignment, and delivery within timelines and budget constraints.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure operational excellence.

Exceptional communication skills to align stakeholders and provide clear, data-driven updates.

Demonstrated leadership in mentoring teams and promoting continuous improvement and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 6 years' experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.

Option 2: 8 years' experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
