Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as the Maintenance Control Specialist for multipurpose and/or large single purpose projects. Responsibilities Communicate preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and schedules to maintenance contractors. Participate in staff and contractor meetings to determine when successive phases of work should be scheduled. Schedule work and issue work orders for routine and cyclic maintenance, repair and replacement of all equipment and machinery. Responsible for accounting data and status changes on all Work Orders. Serve as the expert on the use of the FEM system. Create schedules for each activity based on scope, technical requirements, other needs, and trade skills availability. Serve as the FEM subject matter expert. Determines the accountability, reliability, maintainability, reparability and serviceability of assigned equipment. Minimum Qualifications for GS-1670-05 General Experience: Three years progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level, which includes: (1) Experience entering data such as work order or purchase request data in an electronic information system; and (2) Experience in general office duties such as purchasing supplies, handling of mail, telephone calls, and visitors, reviewing outgoing correspondence, providing or following up on requests for information, using electronic information systems to obtain or provide data, assembling reports; and (3) Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, and Outlook) to create items such as letters, memorandums, spreadsheets, and emails. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages. Minimum Qualifications for GS-1670-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Create, edit, and update work orders for maintenance work in an automated maintenance control system, such as Facilities and Equipment Maintenance System (FEM); and (2) Provide data and assemble reports for work order information using an automated maintenance control system, such as Facilities and Equipment Maintenance System (FEM); and (3) Assist users with accurate work order information using an automated maintenance control system, such as Facilities and Equipment Maintenance System (FEM). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled. Minimum Qualifications for GS-1670-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Coordinating maintenance and repair of facilities for a variety of buildings and developing maintenance concepts, initial repair and replacement factors; (2) Working as liaison with a variety of personnel for facility maintenance projects to resolve problems or issue; (3) Utilizing a variety of automated systems to prepare reports, work packages, and descriptions of the work and equipment involved to resolve the problems identified; and (4) Conducting inspections of maintenance projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.
