The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking to fill aMulti-Residential Home Supervisor (RS II) position. The Supervisor is responsible to supervise two (2) state operated residential homes located in Taunton, MA. This position will oversee two homes that support medically and behaviorally challenged individuals. The incumbent will serve on agency committees, will participate in the interviewing and screening of new staff, and provide supervision and training to staff. Duties and Responsibilities: (these duties are ageneral summary and not all inclusive.) Supervision, training, evaluation, and scheduling of approximately 25 direct support staff. Implement consumer individual service plans (ISP). Provide direct support as needed to enhance the fulfillment of the consumer's human rights, individual control, and community membership. Monitor residential and consumer funds. Oversee consumer health coordination with nursing supports. Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Department regulations, policies, and procedures. Please Note: This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" position in the Department of Developmental Services Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, the selected candidate will be required to report to work. The supervisory position is in a program that operates 24-hours/7 days a week. Candidates must be flexible in their work schedule. The Department requires employees in this position to be able to perform Mandatory Overtime when circumstances dictate the need. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Microsoft programs. Experience working with individuals have Intellectual Disabilities; Skills using communication styles and/or augmentative communication systems. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: At least four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in counseling, guidance, teaching or therapeutic services for individuals with developmental disabilities, of which at least two years must have been in a supervisory capacity. Substitutions: A Bachelor's degree with a major in social work, rehabilitation, psychology, sociology, human services or education of people with physical and/or learning disabilities may be substituted for two (2) years of the required nonsupervisory experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience. A Master's or higher degree in social work, rehabilitation, psychology, sociology, human services or education of people with physical and/or learning may be substituted for an additional year of the required nonsupervisory experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience. One year of education equals 30 semester hours. Education toward a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines.
