Description

We are looking for Purchasing Agents to join our client's team in Reading, PA for long term contract. As a Purchasing Agent, you are responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, goods, and services required by an organization. They collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery, maintain cost-effectiveness, and uphold quality standards. The Purchasing Agent plays a critical role in maintaining inventory levels and supporting operational needs in alignment with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and identify potential suppliers and vendors for necessary goods and services.

Evaluate products, negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to secure the best deals within budget constraints.

Issue purchase orders and monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods and services.

Maintain accurate purchasing records, including documentation of contracts, invoices, and supplier performance.

Develop and sustain relationships with vendors to foster long-term collaborations.

Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with other departments to forecast procurement needs.

Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Address and resolve any issues with shipments, delays, or defective goods.

Provide regular reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and opportunities for process improvement.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.

Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a similar industry.

Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar systems).

Knowledge of supply chain processes and vendor management strategies.

Detail-oriented and organized, with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively across departments and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Familiarity with relevant regulations related to procurement and vendor relations.
