The Opportunity
The Investigations Recovery Manager leads the design, implementation, and execution of a robust Fraud Investigation Recovery framework for deposit operations.
Responsible for implementing efficient and effective strategies to ensure the corporate directive regarding fraud recoveries, the Investigations Recovery Manager will serve as a subject matter expert in a broad array of bank fraud investigation and recovery efforts. This role works alongside the Fraud Investigations Manager and investigators ensuring investigation cases support any warranted recovery effort. Advise Senior Management and Bank personnel of emerging recovery issues and consult and guide the Bank in the establishment of processes to increase recoveries where possible and sets high standards of performance for self and others and assumes responsibility and accountability for successful execution.
Additional responsibilities of the position include leading enterprise internal and external investigations and recovery efforts; create industry best practices through analysis, sound risk management practices and forward thinking.

The Work Itself
Lead the development, implementation and administration of all aspects of the Bank's Fraud Recovery Program, ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures. Continually monitor, review and evaluate the constantly evolving fraud threats and continue strengthening the Bank's recovery framework.
Manage a team of Fraud Recovery Analysts and Associates, driving transformative change through innovation and executing strategic initiatives.
Provide expert advice on the detection and investigation of various @types of fraud, including but not limited to, credit card fraud, identity theft, money laundering, and cyber fraud.
Provide SAR guidance on cases requiring a SAR discovered during recovery efforts.
Supervise fraud recovery effectiveness, sustainability and resiliency of the Bank, driving change and improvement by convening, informing, supporting, influencing and mentoring; ensuring all operations are effectively integrated to achieve best possible outcomes; develop and implement strategies to accommodate current and future organizational plans, programs, and needs.
Perform overall functional management, long-range planning, significant delegation of responsibility. Have latitude in decision-making and operate only in the broad framework of organization policy. Set procedures for area of responsibility and contribute to business wide strategy.
Oversee and ensure Recovery Associates conduct appropriate and timely recovery analysis in response to recovery efforts . Ensure confidentiality of the investigation is preserved, tasks are assigned, due dates and timelines are tracked.
Engage with internal teams and external financial institutions, serving as the primary point of contact for complex requests.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and establish results-focused goals for all direct reports.
Serve as liaison with Legal for recovery initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Play a positive role in the development and growth of assigned department staff through excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong delegation skills assuring a highly cross-trained staff.
Monitor staff in daily tasks, operations and quality control; ensures the organization of assigned areas of the department, coordinating available resources (e.g., staff, materials, etc.) for maximum results.
Perform personnel actions including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates for employment; supervises the daily activities of the department including, but not limited to, effective delegation of assignments, developing work schedules and providing necessary training.
The Skills You Bring
This role requires a combination of leadership strategic thinking and a deep understanding of fraud detection, investigations, and recovery processes. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in financial risk management, data analysis fraud investigation, and the ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external teams
· 5+ years of experience in fraud investigations and SARs with leadership/investigations/operations experience in financial services required.
Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in Bank administration, bank fraud investigations, compliance and supervisory skills.
· Experience should also consist of an in-depth background and Investigations leadership experience in bank fraud investigations of all @types of forgery claims and schemes (i.e., kite schemes, counterfeit checks, forgeries, wires, ach, etc.), banking operations, government regulations, proven usage and knowledge of UCC codes and industry defenses to adverse claims and compliance/operational support.
· Proven knowledge of regulatory Suspicious Activity Report experience - must have skills related to identifying, analyzing, and reporting suspicious activities that may indicate fraud, money laundering, or other financial crimes.
· CFE, CAFP, and CFCI Certifications preferred.
· Ability to make appropriate judgments and decisions with limited guidance.
· Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
· Reasoning Ability- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Excellent planning and organizational skills, including the ability to work independently on projects of high complexity with minimal supervision.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and instill trust within the organization.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
