Construction Site Supervisor RePair Program Supervisor POSITION SUMMARY:
The Construction Director is ultimately responsible for all aspects of
the planning, construction, and follow-up of the Affiliate\'s
home-building and repair/rehab programs. The Construction Director
ensures that each home is built to code, on schedule, within budget, and
with Habitat\'s high standard for quality and safety. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee all phases of home construction, from groundbreaking to final
inspection. Participate in the creation of cost estimates/budget,
request and review bids from subcontractors, create overall construction
schedule, acquire all permits, schedule inspections, order materials.
Identify and coordinate the acquisition of sites suitable for home
construction or rehab/repair. Manage construction schedules and
resources to ensure timely completion of projects. Supervise and support
site supervisors, construction specialists, and volunteers. Ensure
adherence to safety protocols, building codes, and Habitat construction
standards. Maintain quality and control through site visits,
inspections, and team feedback. Develop and manage annual construction
budget in collaboration with the Executive Director and Finance staff.
Create detailed budgets for each individual construction project.
Oversee material procurement, subcontractor coordination, and
construction site logistics. Review, get approval, and categorize all
construction-related invoices. Responsible for development and
management of key programs that support the construction process,
including quality control, energy efficiency, safety, and material and
house sustainability. Seeks to identify and implement new and innovative
construction techniques and efficiencies. Manage construction resources
(vehicles, tools, equipment) to minimize theft and loss; monitor
condition of pickup truck, maintain and clean it; organize tool storage
and keep inventory records current. Research, pursue, and use in-kind
material and labor whenever possible and feasible. Document all in-kind
donations and provide notification to the Operations Assistant. Carry
out maintenance projects in the office, the warehouse, and properties
owned by the affiliate. Oversee the completion of all warranty work on
completed homes. Maintain positive relationships with all subcontractors
and vendors (i.e. personal visits, thank you notes when applicable,
holiday cards, etc.). Work with the ReStore Manager to utilize ReStore
donations as appropriate to reduce the cost of construction and rehab of
Habitat homes. Maintain quality control through site visits,
inspections, constructive criticism and team feedback. Execute regular
check-ins. Sustain a collaborative environment to ensure positive,
effective, and efficient working relationships between construction
staff and all other departments of the organization, as well as
suppliers, contractors, families, and volunteers. Monitor staff
performance on a regular basis and conduct annual performance reviews
for all direct reports. Collaborate with staff to develop an employee
growth plan. Work with Volunteer Coordinator to ensure proper numbers of
volunteers on site and to provide individuals and partner families with
meaningful volunteer experiences. Direct and train skilled and unskilled
volunteers. Work closely with Partner Family throughout building process
to ensure the family is assigned duties to complete their sweat equity
requirement. Operate in compliance with all guidelines and policies of
Habitat for Humanity-La Crosse Area, Habitat for Humanity International,
and all municipal/local/state building codes and regulations. Review the
affiliate safety policy on an annual basis; enforce safety rules at all
times, including use of safety equipment, receipt of liability waivers
from volunteers, verify parental permission for minors, and enforce
restrictions on activities and use of power tools. Work in compliance
with relevant grants. Schedule and ensure regular meetings of the
Construction Committee. Prepare and submit written monthly report to the
Board of Directors. Other duties as may be assigned by the Executive
Director. ** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATION
REQUIREMENTS: Mission driven. Understanding of and ability to articulate
Habitat for Humanity\'s mission and goals. Saturdays are required.
Includes Sundays and Mondays off. Evening or weekend (Sunday, Monday)
meetings may occasionally be required. Thorough, demonstrated knowledge
of residential construction, building materials and techniques,
understanding of subcontractor work and requirements, construction
management skills, job safety skills, Energy Star requirements.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project. Good
organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously manage/direct
changing teams on multiple projects and sites including new home
construction, critical home repair, and deconstruction. Ability to
effectively communicate with people from different and diverse
backgrounds; must be able to develop a good rapport with volunteers,
subcontractors, partner families, and other community partners. Valid
Driver\'s License, ability to drive affiliate vehicle(s), and insurable
under affiliate driver\'s policy. Ability to climb ladders, use and
demonstrate use of construction and power equipment. Able to lift 50
lbs. frequently, and 75 lbs. occasionally. Independent (able to work
productively with little supervision) Goal-oriented / focused on

school diploma or GED required. At least 5 years of related experience
