Summary See below for important information regarding this job. Responsibilities Plans and executes complex and highly detailed visual briefings and presentations. Designs and produces audiovisual materials to include computer graphics for the Internet and intranet, multimedia presentations, and a variety of related media. Responsible for identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among team members in accordance with established workflow and ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks. Trains or proposes training for team members in methods and techniques of audio or visual information management processes to ensure state of the art capability of the unit. Coaches team members in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques. Provides consultation and technical advice to program managers and subject matter specialists to determine the information objectives (broad concepts, organization, functions, systems, programs/procedures, etc.) of the project. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for a Lead Visual Information Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Planning, design, and display of visual materials such as photographs, videos, audio recordings, pamphlets, posters, infographics, newsletters, exhibits, studies, podcasts, illustrations, diagrams, graphs, objects, models, slides, and charts. Designs and produces audiovisual materials to include computer graphics for the Internet and intranet, multimedia presentations, and a variety of related media. Plans and designs flip charts, slides, transparencies, enlargements and/or matrix plotter output to be used to assist the speaker in conveying information or representing specific operations and occurrences. Plans and executes the visual aspects of printed media selecting format, size, and general appearance, @type of paper, cover design and color scheme for individual issues or components of a series of pamphlets/publications. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP): If you are an eligible ICTAP applicant you may apply for special selection over other candidates for this position. To be well-qualified and exercise selection priority for this vacancy, displaced Federal employees must be rated at a score of 85 or higher for this position. ICTAP eligibles must submit one of the following as proof of eligibility for the special selection priority: a separation notice; a "Notice of Personnel Action" (SF-50) documenting separation; an agency certification that you cannot be placed after injury compensation has been terminated; an OPM notification that your disability annuity has been terminated; OR a Military Department or National Guard Bureau notification that you are retired under 5 U.S.C. 8337(h) or 8456.
