Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless patient experience by monitoring patient arrivals, assisting with patient flow, and greeting patients and visitors promptly and courteously. You will escort patients to exam rooms, monitor wait times, assist patients in preparing for exams, and notify physicians when patients are ready. Additionally, you will gather and record patients' chief complaints and information, including data histories, vital signs, allergies, and specimen collection. Your role also involves preparing medical records, taking measurements such as height and weight, and ensuring all necessary lab and other reports are available before patient appointments.

Responsibilities

Monitor patient arrival and assist with patient flow.

Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously.

Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with exam preparation.

Record patient data including chief complaints, vital signs, and medical histories.

Prepare and maintain medical records.

Ensure lab and other reports are available for appointments.

Provide interpretation services and clerical support.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of examination rooms.

Stock examination rooms with necessary supplies.

Update patient information in the EMR system.

Retrieve and file medical reports and lab results.

Adhere to HIPAA rules to maintain patient confidentiality.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in recording vital signs and using EMR systems.

Experience in medical assisting and patient care.

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

2+ years of healthcare experience.

Experience with scheduling appointments.

Familiarity with Epic EMR system.

Work Environment

The position is based in a busy outpatient office with locations in Scarsdale, Monroe, and Suffern, New York. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, catering to 50-100 patients a day. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suffern, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
