Seeking a Payroll Manager in the Wausau Area!!

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Manager to oversee end-to-end payroll operations for a multi-entity organization. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining regulatory compliance, and developing payroll policies and systems. The manager will lead a team of payroll professionals and collaborate with internal departments to support organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage payroll operations across multiple business units, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.

Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Oversee system updates, testing, and implementation of new payroll technologies.

Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, tax filings, and year-end reporting, including 941s, 1099s, and UC filings.

Coordinate and participate in audits, including workers' compensation and financial audits.

Prepare financial reconciliations and analytical reports related to payroll activities.

Maintain confidentiality and data integrity in all payroll processes.

Provide leadership and performance evaluations for payroll team members.

Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to align payroll functions with organizational objectives.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and service delivery.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of three years of experience in an accounting or payroll department.

Comprehensive knowledge of payroll and accounts payable systems.

Up-to-date understanding of federal and state payroll regulations.

Proficiency in preparing financial statements and reports.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Supervisory experience preferred.

Attention detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This position is based at our Wausau Corporate office, operating 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, during typical office hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wausau, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.62 - $50.00/hr.
