Summary
The Projects Division Perimeter Manager is responsible for ensuring high quality and profitable operation of the division, leading and developing a fleet of drivers in a deadline-driven, fast paced, ever-changing, dynamic work environment. This role is responsible for developing strong relationships with their fleet of drivers while achieving performance, training, safety, retention and service needs in accordance with company and department quality, utilization, and profit objectives. They will be responsible for managing ATS perimeter trailers and serve as subject matter experts for successful project implementation and execution of all aspects of project cargo delivery and serve as the primary point of contact for the customer. The purpose of the role is to manage perimeter trailers and ensure driver satisfaction while meeting ATS goals.
Education and Experience
A 2-4-year degree in business, accounting, or finance preferred, and/or equivalent work experience in related fields.
Two years of transportation industry experience or project management experience preferred.
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook, etc.)
Experience in the wind energy sector is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of Department of Transportation laws preferred but not required.
Experience and ability to read a map.
Robust critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize projects and deadlines.
Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, listening) to train people and work cross-functionally with all management levels in a company both internally and externally.
Ability to adapt to an ever-changing work environment; able to deal with frequent change, delays, and unexpected events.
Exceptional mathematical skills to control profit/loss, monitor budgets, and pricing models.
Ability to understand contract terms and conditions.
Aptitude to analyze information; develops alternative solutions and communicate results.
Ability to work flexible shifts as needed to meet company deadlines, and travel to customer locations as needed.
Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, listening) to train people and work cross-functionally with all management levels in a company both internally and externally.
Must be able to demonstrate a proactive commitment to ATS corporate values and the success of all staff.

Willing and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop effective working relationships, from a distance, and provide a superior level of service to your fleet of drivers and help manage their pay goals and time off.
Lead, influence, and educate your fleet of drivers on ATS Safety Culture to meet and/or exceed established safety expectations.
Work closely with drivers to help manage optimal performance; ensure the driver arrives with the correct tools and equipment to haul the load, has sufficient log hours to meet load windows and proactively manage driver ETAs and PTAs.
Communicate all securement needs per component on each project and issue an MEC (Maintenance Equipment Center) request.
Partner with Project Management team to determine turn assumptions and total equipment needed to deliver at the pace required by the customer, and coordinate and organize how the cargo being transported is loaded and secured.
Quote all perimeter loads to manage consistency.
Manage the permit and escort costs, and contract terms for each stage of the project.
Execute project truck production plan and contractual obligations; organize and schedule the pick-up and deliveries of cargo, and ensure routes are established and properly vetted for safety.
Coordinate third party project services to meet deadlines.
Ensure all pre-project technical requirements are achieved, and project safety guidelines and protocols are being followed.
Effectively manage costs related to damage, abuse, neglect, fuel. Layovers, etc.
Conduct root-cause analysis when a failure occurs to identify solutions to eliminate problems in the future and address and effectively resolve performance issues when they occur.
Partner with Operations to develop perimeter driver skills, abilities, and experience to meet current and future capacity needs.
Coordinate all perimeter project assignments by selecting a driver, selecting trailer based on load specifications, and remove/replace driver selections as needed.
Partner with the Road Service team and ATS shops on all Perimeter trailers to schedule maintenance, repairs and modifications, maintain inventory numbers to meet demands and keep track of the location of all equipment.
Partner with HR and Safety to accurately and timely report medical concerns and/or leave requests.
Attend seminars, training, and workshops to stay current on industry trends and changes.

Compensation:
Total cash compensation range of this position is $83,000 to $100,000+ per year which includes a base salary range of $65,000 to $85,000 and first-year training incentive. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic as compared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the base salary, employees will be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
