We are currently looking for an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting Rhoads' Maintenance Department in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and facilities to ensure smooth and consistent operations across all Rhoads Industries' business lines. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime and maintaining operational efficiency. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Maintenance Department shares accountability with the Rhoads Quality/Safety Director in upholding and enforcing all applicable safety precautions and programs associated with the use and maintenance of equipment. The Industrial Maintenance Technician is expected to thoroughly read, understand, and adhere to Rhoads' standard procedures for equipment maintenance, as well as ISO 9000 standards related to tools, and any ASME and AISC requirements governing equipment and tool standards.
What You Will Be Doing
Perform facility maintenance to include HVAC, lighting, electrical panels & wiring, plumbing, man doors & overhead doors, and roof inspections.
Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance, repairs, and modifications performed.
Inspect and assess facility conditions to ensure proper functionality and make recommendations for necessary repairs
Responsible for maintaining an inventory of service and repair parts.
Organize to support multiple projects and prioritize to meet required deadlines.
Maintain clean work area in maintenance shop. Provide support to facility maintenance tasks and any other assigned duties as required.
Additional duties as assigned.
Your Background
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification or associate degree in industrial mechanics, maintenance technology, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial building maintenance or building repair, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and machinery.
Experience and knowledge of minor repairs for breakers and wiring for electrical circuitry.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot facility issues effectively.
Understanding and familiar with ISO, and UL Certifications.
Must be capable and willing to work flexible hours and overtime when required.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass all background clearances including but not limited to Motor Vehicle Check, and a drug screening.
OSHA 10 certificate. Must be completed within 90 days of Hire.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with Project Executives, Project Managers, Foremen, Craftsmen, and other members of the Rhoads Project Team, including customers of the Tool & Equipment function.
Broad knowledge of building repair, with the ability to continuously learn, think critically, and apply innovative solutions.
Familiarity with state and local building codes and understanding of proper construction materials required for repairs.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities, set priorities, and oversee concurrent projects effectively.
Ability to perform successfully in fast-paced and time-sensitive environments.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and sound analytical capabilities.
Demonstrates initiative, collaboration, persistence, and tact, with the ability to think strategically and influence outcomes effectively.
The Work Environment at Rhoads
Capable of meeting the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, carrying, and other manual labor tasks.
Must be capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.
Must be capable of working in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and driving in an automobile.
May require walking and standing on irregular and uneven surfaces in an industrial setting.
Must be comfortable performing work at heights of up to 100 feet.
The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety toe boots, hard hats, and hearing protection is required.
