In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for creating a welcoming first impression and enhance the patient and family experience. Proactively interacts with patients, families, visitors and staff to ensure a positive first impression, that all interactions are helpful and needs are taken care of in a prompt and professional manner. Responsible for providing personalized service in accordance with the standards of the Hospital. Serves as a primary resource for patients, families and visitors seeking information, and acts as a liaison between visitors and other departments in an effort to provide exceptional customer service. Serves as a guide for patients, families and visitors, facilitates information and wayfinding request and anticipate their needs.Job Responsibilities:- Provides a warm and friendly greeting to patients, families and visitors upon arrival and departure. Provides wayfinding services for patients and visitors using maps and other tools to various hospital locations. Assures the customer is directed to the appropriate department without exception.- Performs other duties as assigned- Assists in maintaining lobby appearance and individual work area.- Collaborates with all staff and departments and provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Escalates questions and provides timely resolution to patients and families.- Anticipates the customer s needs and concerns, answers their questions and takes appropriate action. Follows up with customer concerns and assists in resolution of issues in a timely manner, collaborating with Patient Relations Department.- Informs patients, families and visitors of hospital and community services as well as amenities that are available and initiates and delivers service recovery when necessary.- Answers questions on the spot at lobby desk and responds to requests in a professional manner using exceptional customer service skills. Answers incoming phone calls with NYU Winthrop greeting, determines purpose of the call and transfer to the appropriate area or department.Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a High School or GED. 1 - 2 years Customer Service/Hospitality Position (Hospital,Hotel, Retail, Customer Experience). Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and organization skills. Good computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel). Strong customer service and Hospitality skills.Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree In any field. 3 - 5 years Customer Service/Hospitality Position (Hospital,Hotel, Retail, Customer Experience). Electronic Medical Record Experience.Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
