Summary You will serve as an ELECTRONICS MECHANIC LEADER (EXPERT) in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY to include work sites of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. Applicants will only be considered for positions within their own UIC. For example: if you are within UIC 4523A, you will only be considered for positions within 4523A. Responsibilities You will apply advanced trades knowledge and techniques in of operation, capabilities and limitations of electronic equipment and systems. You will guide, train and mentor shop personnel performing the removal, disassembly, overhaul, troubleshooting, modification, repair, installation and testing of various electronic equipment. You will explain work requirements, methods, and procedures, instruct on new procedures, and provide advice when problems arise. You will setup, operate and troubleshoot the various @types of equipment utilized to manufacture and overhaul surface and sub-surface ship components. You will use a variety of technical manuals and specifications to determine requirements and ensure quality control is maintained. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.
