Description

A well-established medical group in Encinitas is seeking a File Clerk to join their growing administrative team. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. The File Clerk will play an essential role in maintaining accurate patient and billing records to ensure compliance with HIPAA and internal policies.

Responsibilities:

Organize, label, and maintain physical and electronic patient files.

Retrieve, scan, and upload medical records into the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Assist with audits and record requests from physicians, insurance companies, and patients.

Maintain the confidentiality and security of all sensitive medical data.

Coordinate with front office staff and billing to ensure files are current and properly stored.

Purge and archive inactive records per retention schedule.

Requirements

1-2 years of experience in administrative support or medical office environment.

Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.

Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Excellent time management and communication skills.
