The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)assists in the delivery of patient care as established by the licensed Occupational Therapist to reach treatment goals through a written treatment plan. The COTA will be responsible for maintaining patient records. The COTA maintains good communication with physicians, licensed therapists, nurses, allied health professionals, social workers, discharge planners, and hospital personnel. COTA participates in continuous quality improvement and strives to excel in customer service. Employees will be responsible for knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant/child, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population. The COTA actively participates in occupational therapy activities and in-services training.
What you will do in this role:
Supports the philosophy of Kingwood Medical Center by facilitating cooperation of hospital staff in a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
Consistently provides outstanding service to all patients, physicians, fellow employees, and guests.
Displays initiative to see processes through to completion and helps without being asked.
Maintains awareness of own limitations and seeks guidance from appropriate personnel as needed.
Prioritizes work activities of self, based on demands for service.
Remains alert to the detection of errors in own work and the work of others with appropriate corrective actions initiated.

What qualifications you will need:
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Associate Degree from an accredited OTA program
(COTA) Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Texas
A minimum of 1 year experience in a rehab setting preferred; new grads will be considered
Must be able to work weekdays and rotating weekends with occasional holidays
