Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Thornton, Colorado. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, focusing on managing vendor payments, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring smooth accounts payable operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to accuracy in financial processes.

Responsibilities:

Handle the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice matching, approval coordination, and payment processing.

Reconcile invoices with purchase orders using an automated accounts payable workflow system.

Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve payment discrepancies and inquiries promptly.

Set up new vendors and maintain accurate vendor master records.

Process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.

Review and reconcile vendor statements, addressing and resolving any inconsistencies.

Apply appropriate sales and use tax rates to invoices, as needed.

Conduct research to address and resolve vendor disputes and operational inquiries.

Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.

Maintain reliable attendance and complete additional tasks as assigned. Requirements - Proven experience in full-cycle accounts payable processes, including invoice matching and payment reconciliation.

Proficiency in accounting software systems and ERP platforms.

Strong understanding of account coding and general accounting functions.

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address vendor and operational discrepancies.

Familiarity with applying sales and use tax rates to invoices.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.

Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Capacity to support audit processes by providing accurate and timely documentation.
