The Role
We are seeking a highly analytical, driven, and experienced Materials Manager to join our diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. In this role, you will lead inventory management strategies that optimize customer experience, inventory levels, and operational efficiency.
As a Materials Manager, you will be at the forefront of maintaining efficient manufacturing capacity and ensuring timely delivery of products to our customers. You'll collaborate with teams across AWS to uphold the highest standards of safety and security while working towards our goal of providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.

Key job responsibilities
Design and maintain scalable, reliable analytical tools, dashboards, and metrics to drive key decisions and resource prioritization
Play a pivotal role in defining and executing complex supply chain strategies as a key member of the AWS Infrastructure supply chain team
Manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, adapting to rapidly changing priorities and ambiguous situations
Drive process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance supply chain efficiency and reliability
Develop and implement strategic supply schedules, clearly communicating priorities and status to internal and external stakeholders

Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of basic supply agreement construction and key contracting provisions/requirements
Bachelor's or an advanced degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field, or 6+ related experience
6+ years work experience in supply chain, planning, procurement, manufacturing or 4+ years with an advanced degree
5+ years experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, etc.
4+ years experience in program, project, or product management, or leading an implementation of a product
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience in data centers, an infrastructure service provider or similar technology company.
Global Supply Chain Experience
Fluent in multiple languages preferred
10+ years of relevant supply chain experience
Understanding of the implications of different operational choices to guide teams and leadership to best solutions for the organization
Analytical skills with a high degree of proficiency in data mining.
Able to model supply chain strategies to define cost and performance impacts, trade-offs, and risks
Ability to think big and drive innovation throughout the supply chain
Must be analytical and have a passion for diving deep
Effectively communicate relevant information at all levels of the organization
leadership and coaching skills
Has created an innovative global supply strategy for the organization resulting in a tangible benefit to the business

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
