This position has the ability to be a hybrid position for up to 50% of the pay period. The selected candidate is expected to work a minimum of the first two weeks in the office to assist in learning the position.
This position functions as the Administrative Manager over the Data Security and Privacy unit supporting the Michigan Department of Corrections privacy and security as it relates to information technology (IT) systems (including electronic and paper records). Ensuring compliance with State and Federal policies, regulations, and laws; providing recommendations on the establishment, and revision of privacy and security policies, standards, and procedures. This position oversees Internal Control Evaluations and the related processes.
This manager oversees all information technology System Security Plans (SSP) and reviews. Ensuring appropriate plan of action for deficiencies are developed and mitigations are defined and completed. Manages staff that lead efforts to meet all requirements related to DTMB Security Accreditation Process. Manages staff that ensure Internal Access Controls Evaluations and internal / external audits are completed.
This position is also the appointed Chief Data Steward, Department Privacy Officer, and Local Agency Security Officer (LASO).

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
Alternate Education and Experience
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
Additional Requirements and Information
New hires to the MDOC along with previous MDOC employees that are returning after being away from the department for more than two years will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) either 40 hours or 80 hours of initial in-person training based on their level of offender contact and job classification. All new employees will complete additional online training to successfully complete their non-custody new employee training.
